Athelington Family Camp 2016

There is no better way to connect with the work of GBM and world mission than by coming to Athelington 2016. A relaxed summer holiday in the beautiful Suffolk countryside that runs from 30 July until 6 August. Our Athelington week has been a spiritual oasis for Christians from all over the UK and beyond.

Athelington Hall Farm is a popular holiday destination with Hoseasons holidays, and we have exclusive use of the sight, with a warm welcome from our host, Peter Havers. There are timber lodges, well equipped with hot-tubs and terraces, and there is also plenty of room for camping, with kitchen and toilet facilities on site.

At the heart of the week is good Bible ministry. Mick Lockwood, from Haworth in West Yorkshire, will be preaching each morning. Mick is pastor of Hall Green Baptist Church which he replanted fifteen years ago. There is a separate programme for primary age children during the morning meeting. In the evenings we are joined by some of the missionaries, and the focus is on what God is doing around the world. There is also a late-night programme for teenagers.

Suffolk has so much to do, yet it remains a largely undiscovered tourist destination. As well as exploring beautiful villages with thatched cottages, if you love history you could go to Framlingham castle, or the Sutton Hoo visitor centre. Maybe you’d prefer a day out to a zoo or theme park – plenty to choose from in both Suffolk and Norfolk. Then there are beautiful beaches at Lowestoft, Southwold and Walberswick, and the quirky seaside town of Aldeburgh.
