Opportunities

for service

Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world by landmass, and is one of the world’s leading emerging economies. After years of economic instability, the economy has stabilised and grown, and an industrial boom is changing the face of the country. Much of this is in the south, and large areas of the interior remain to be reached with the gospel.

Evangelical Churches in Brazil have grown massively since the 1960s. However, the growth of real Christian discipleship has lagged far behind. Prosperity theology has taken root, especially among the urban poor, and biblical models of humble leadership are sorely lacking. The Amazon basin is an area the size of non-Russian Europe, where 36,000 river communities are as yet unchurched.
