Envision Apprenticeships

Envision Apprenticeships give young adults an opportunity to try ministry at

the sharp end and to test their calling in a cross-cultural context. Our aim is to encourage able young adults into mission long-term by giving them a demanding experience of mission for a fixed term in a cross-cultural situation.

What will they do?

They will work alongside a missionary supported through GBM or with a church with whom we have an established relationship. They will serve for one to two years. Word ministry must be the main priority, through evangelism and discipleship. Each apprentice will have a job description drawn up in agreement with the missionary with whom they work. They will give some of their time to a training course appropriate to the situation in which they serve.

Who should apply?

You must be at least 21 years of age, and show evidence of spiritual gifting and Christian character suited to the work you would be doing.  All apprentices will be required to be in full agreement with the doctrinal basis, and would normally need to come from a GBM participating church. Contact us for more details.

How will you be supervised?

Each apprentice will be mentored by the missionary or pastor with whom they work, with a weekly meeting to review work and discuss progress. You would also keep in regular contact with GBM staff and your sending Church, writing a monthly report on your work. A training course would be built into your schedule.
