GBM is a church-based mission. We believe that the local church is at the centre of God’s plan for world mission. It is in the local church that we see people saved, we make disciples, and we train people for works of service. Therefore we exist to help churches send their best people into world mission.

This conviction of the centrality of the local church is a core conviction of the Local Church Global Mission conference which meets for the third time this year. The conference meets at Oak Hill Theological College in North London, on Saturday 25 February. This is a day conference for church leaders and mission practitioners to give thought and prayer to your church’s role in taking the gospel to the nations.

This conference will explore the fundamentals:

What is the biblical vision for the church’s role in reaching the nations?

What does that mean for the 21st Century UK and world situations?

The day begins and ends with ministry from Steve Timmis of The Crowded House, Sheffield, and Acts 29 church planting network. Steve will open up the Bible to seek God’s voice to shape our vision of the task before us. Then there are four practical seminars which give opportunity to explore different dimensions of local church engagement in global mission, discussing and sharing experience and resources. Each seminar is repeated, so you can get to two of the four during the day.

GBM will be one of the many exhibitors and is happy to promote this conference which we hope will encourage many Grace Baptist churches to connect with other like-minded Christians in the work of cross-cultural mission.

10ofthose will be providing a bookstall full of resources to serve you and your church in your walk with God in world mission.
