Athelington CampAthelington

The Athelington Camp is held on a farm in Suffolk and is an inexpensive family holiday with the freedom to come and go as you please. Numerous activities are organised during the day for all age groups. Each day begins with Bible ministry and a children's meeting.

A fellowship meeting takes place every evening with the focus on Mission. Several missionaries are present during the week. In 2008 this camp is from 9th-16th August 2008 and there are still spaces for campers and Caravanners. Our main speaker for the morning Bible ministry will be Sukesh Pabari. Sukesh is working in Kenya based in Nairobi. There will be missionary input from GBM missionaries who will be present including Maria Amoako who will be taking responsibility for leading the children’s meeting each day.

Who Will Go

A series of weekend seminars in Abingdon exploring the theme of Cross Cultural Mission. This has become a useful forum for people from the UK who are preparing to become involved in this work, and those who are beginning to explore the possibility.

The programme always includes discussion, Case Studies and input from men and women who have had first hand experience of Cross Cultural work.

The next conference will God willing take place on 11th-13th January 2008 in Abingdon. The weekend will have three tracks exploring various aspects of Cross-Cultural mission.

The agenda is as follows:

Short Term Service

Preparing those who are considering going overseas to visit the mission field for up to six months. Also hearing from several Young People who have recently returned from their visits.

Radio

The use of Radio as a medium for evangelism overseas, in local radio or assisting the GBM radio team. This will be an opportunity to gain hands-on experience of producing radio programmes.

Is God calling me?

An opportunity to explore the whole area of Cross Cultural Mission with discussion, work groups and testimonies. The conference will be useful if you are considering Christian Service in a cross cultural environment.
