Mission Council

Mission Council

Mission Council is a group of representatives from our member churches who have responsibility for overseeing the work of the Mission. This includes:

• supporting the Mission Director and other staff
• considering missionary candidates recommended by their church
• upholding the doctrinal and spiritual position and aims of the Mission
• overseeing such things as finance and safeguarding.

Council members are elected at the GBM Annual General Meeting of church delegates, and each member serves for three years and may then stand for re-election. As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), GBM comes under UK charity law, and members of Mission Council are the charity trustees.
