Week of Prayer 2021 – ‘God gives the increase’

GBM’s annual Week of Prayer takes place this year on 13-20 June.

New for 2021! – daily Zoom prayer meetings throughout the Week of Prayer, featuring GBM missionaries from around the world. Register here for the prayer meetings you would like to attend » (Registration closes on 10 June.)

Christ has given his Church the work of mission: to make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that he has commanded us. This is an immense task which can leave us feeling overwhelmed. How can we reach the nations for Christ?

The Apostle Paul felt the weight and urgency of mission. Yet he knew that his greatest efforts – on their own – would achieve nothing. He could only plant the seed and others just watered it. Life, growth and increase is always God’s sovereign work (see 1 Cor. 3:5-7).

God gives the increase. That’s a good reason to pray, and to pray confidently.

Join us during our Week of Prayer, to pray specifically and boldly for God to give the increase through GBM missionaries and churches. Pray for the different kinds of increase: that disciples would grow in grace; that unconverted people would come to faith; that more gospel churches would be planted and strengthened.

To help you pray we have produced an eight-day prayer guide which is included in the May Herald magazine, and we will also release a series of short videos linked with each day’s theme.
