At Annual Mission Day on 28 October 2023, we were delighted to introduce the three new missionary families who have joined with us during the year.

Philip and Heidi have been sent by Dunmow Baptist Church in Essex to support a Bible translation project in Uganda. Heidi has devoted a couple of years to study and training in biblical languages, linguistics, theology and cross-cultural mission practice, in preparation for serving as a translation consultant. Philip’s role is in scripture engagement—preaching and teaching—as well as technical assistance to the translation team. The Knights serve in a partnership between Wycliffe Bible Translators and Grace Baptist Mission.

In November, Philip and Heidi moved to Uganda. After orientation in Entebbe they will then move north to Koboko, where they will work alongside the Keiko translation team. The Keliko New Testament was completed five years ago; Heidi and Philip are supporting the Old Testament translation project which is now underway.

Colin Grimwood joined our radio team in October, to work alongside Andrew Cook on Serving Today. Colin and his wife Gill are members of Stowmarket Baptist Church in Suffolk, which has set Colin apart for this ministry. As well as writing and recording new Bible teaching programmes, Colin will also travel overseas to preach and teach in some of the countries where Serving Today is broadcast.

Adrian and Abigail Yeboah were sent by Grace Baptist Church, Wood Green (London), to serve in church revitalization and church planting in the Netherlands. Adrian is an elder at Grace Church Amsterdam (an English language international church), but their long-term goal is to plant a Dutch speaking church in Amsterdam. With this in mind, the Yeboahs joined the GBM family at the end of 2023.

Look out for the December 2023 episode of Prayer Waves, where we hear from Adrian and Abi about their current ministry and future plans.
